Central Jail, Lahore

Central Jail, Lahore was commissioned in 1965. The authorized accommodation of the Jail is 1053 prisoners whereas 3537 prisoners are confined here.

Following facilities are provided to the prisoners:

Rehabilitation Center

Proper program for rehabilitation of addicts, junveniles and female prisoner are functional  under the supervision of the appointed Medical Officer. The Center helps prisoners by offering physical therapy and lectures by religious scholars. 

Medical Services

All the basic medical facilities are provided to prisoners like ECG, Ultra Sound, X Ray, Dental Room, T.B Dots, screening tests of Hepatitis B&C, HIV/ AIDs, HCV etc. Two full time Medical Officers are available. 24 hours facilities to check the prisoners as a indoor and outdoor patients and provide free medicines and vaccination as their needs, available services of Operation Theater for minor surgeries. Ambulances for emergency shifting of prisoners from Jail to outside Hospital like DHQ, PIMS and other Hospitals. Daily visit of Lady Doctors for Female Wards and Medical Specialist for Male Wards.
