In order to provide professional training to the officers and officials of the Punjab Prisons, a training college has been established at Sahiwal near the Central Jail and High Security Prison of Sahiwal. Construction of college building has almost been completed. Electricity connection has been provided and provision of Sui Gas connection is under process.
Government of the Punjab has posted two officers of the prison service as Commandant and Deputy Commandant of the PPSTC in 2017 and 2020, respectively.

The Training College has not started functioning so for, due to non-appointment of officers / officials below the post of Deputy Commandant and other bottlenecks. It is expected that the training college shall soon become operative.
