Inspector General's Message

I am grateful to Allah Almighty for blessing me the opportunity to head Punjab Prisons; the largest Prisons establishment of Pakistan. First of all, I pay tribute to the martyrs of Punjab Prisons who have abundantly added to the honor and prestige of this esteemed organization by sacrificing their precious lives. Our martyrs are a source of pride and motivation for us. Their families are our families. It is my foremost responsibility to strengthen association with them and solve their problems on priority basis.

Punjab Prisons Department is not only making sure the safe custody and control of criminals for the safety and security of masses but also pursuing the task of reformation, correction and rehabilitation of the Prison’s inmates. At the time of wearing uniform, Prisons officers take oath to give priority to public interest over personal interest. Any officer who deviates from this pledge, deserves no leniency. Steps are being taken for enhancing professional competence and capacity building of Prisons force. I honor the importance of self-respect of each and every citizen. I advise Prison officers to always remain polite and any misbehave or insult to inmates or their visiting relatives is not to be tolerated.

As Commander of Punjab Prisons, it is my duty to take immediate best decisions for solving internal issues of Punjab Prisons. For that, merit-based recruitment, reforming Prisons system with modern techniques, accountability & transparency is ensured. On the accountability front, I want to make it clear that, in my opinion, any concerned officer/official who do not deliver, will be proceeded against departmentally and will not have any place in Prisons department. In order to remain in Prisons department, officers/officials will have to perform their duty honestly and diligently.

Whereas, it is my prime responsibility to enforce the motto of Punjab Prisons, Custody, care, control and correction in all aspects to rehabilitate and reformation of prisoners to make them useful citizens equipped with technical & vocational skills to participate in the development of society. On the other hand, ensuring solutions to the problems of prison force is also part of my duty. All the officers and staff of Punjab Prisons are like my own family. Therefore, injustice towards anyone will not be tolerated in any manner.

May Allah Almighty help and support us in achieving our noble goals and providing sense of security to general public and making our homeland a peaceful and best place to live in.
